Rockies add OF Sam Hilliard, INF Thairo Estrada to roster

The Colorado Rockies purchased the contract of veteran outfielder Sam Hilliard from Triple-A Albuquerque and reinstated infielder Thairo Estrada from the 60-day injured list on Friday.
In corresponding moves, outfielder Nick Martini was designated for assignment and infielder Adael Amador was optioned to Triple-A.
Hilliard, 31, is set to appear in the major leagues for the first time this season. He batted .239 with 10 home runs for Colorado last season and is a career .219 hitter with 42 home runs and 104 RBIs in 312 games over six seasons with the Rockies and Atlanta Braves (2023).
Estrada, 29, fractured his right wrist during spring training. He is a career .251 hitter with 48 home runs and 195 RBIs in 469 games over six seasons with the New York Yankees (2019-20) and San Francisco Giants (2021-24).
Martini, 34, was batting .225 with one home run and four RBIs in 43 games during his first season in Colorado. Amador, 22, was batting .146 with one home run and five RBIs in 33 games with the Rockies.
